The Susanville Symphony 2019 - 2020 Concert Season

Concert on the Green 
September 21st

One of the most family friendly and most popular concerts in our line-up. This year we will be performing rousing rock and roll arrangements like Chicago's “Beginnings” and the Blues Brothers “Soul Man” as well as Phil Fetterman singing Elvis Presley's Famous “I can't Help Falling in Love With You.” Our classical patrons will welcome timeless classics such as Georges Bizet's “Carmen” and “Blue Danube Waltz” by Johann Strauss. There is something for everyone at the Concert on the Green. Pack you picnic basket and blanket or go for the grand prize of best-dressed table.

October 18th & 19th

Gunhild Carling, an international jazz musician from Sweden, and currently performing on America's Got Talent (2019) will return to wow the audience with her incredible showmanship and style. Not only can Gunhild play three trumpets at one time, the bagpipes, trombone and more, she is one of the premiere Jazz musicians in the world. She has carved out time from her busy schedule and performing all over the world with Post Modern Juke Box to bring you some of the most exciting big band era music ever written. Music such as Little Brown Jug, In The Mood, Sing, Sing, Sing and many more.

The Susanville Christmas  
December 20th & 21st

After several years of a more pop like holiday show, this year we bring you back to the classics featuring music from “The Nutcracker” by Tchaikovsky and more. Audience sing-a-longs, special soloists and more bring you closer to your family and to the holiday spirit that encapsulates this beautiful area we live in.

The Red Violin 
February 28th & 29th

We have been waiting for the return of Elizabeth Pitcairn and her famous Red Violin for many years. Celebrating the 300 th anniversary of Pitcairn’s Red Mendelssohn Stradivarius, Elizabeth Pitcairn will return to Susanville to perform the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. A truly once in a lifetime event, join our Symphony as we bring some of the best classical music available.

The Susanville Pops Concert  
May 15th & 16th

This year we focus on our own country: America. We will honor not only our country but also the men and women who have served in the military. This music personifies and identifies with this great country: The Armed forces medley, Rodeo from Aaron Copland, American Composers and music that resonates from the Hills of Tennessee to the great shores of the Pacific Ocean.

The Susanville Symphony is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and is funded solely through prepaid memberships, ticket sales, program ads and donations.  We are the umbrella organization for the Susanville Music Academy, the Susanville Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Susanville Choral Society.  We invite you to join our journey to insure the future of performance music in Northern California.
